  2. Has anyone ever properly celebrated or written a history of the development of the modern drum-set? It’s an amazing instrument, though of course little used in orchestra music. Looking at the picture I marvel and the individuality of this set. Looks like the rack toms may be hand-made.

    1. Hi Frank – Drum sets from that era incorporated Chinese tom toms which is what is pictured. Also, you might want to look at:
